The Law of Attraction – Science or Fiction?

Much has been said about the Law of Attraction over the last several years.  It is a topic of debate on whether or not it actually works.

The topic has really come into its own with the publication of the book/video/audio book by Rhonda Byrne.  I have watched the video and listened to the CDs.  The idea didn’t begin with Rhonda, although she did a wonderful job describing it and capturing the concept in media that works in the current marketplace.

There are many other sources describing the Law of Attraction.  Some predate the 2006 release of The Secret others appeared on the New York Times Best Seller List after 2006.  Here are some examples:

  • The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles
  • Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill
  • The Law of Success by Napolean Hill
  • Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham by Esther Hicks and Jerry Hicks
  • Money and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Health, Wealth & Happiness by Esther and Jerry Hicks

Now, there is a whole industry surrounding the “secret” — Law of Attraction, and the implementation of the Law of Attraction in your life.

I have some negative job related experience in the Law of Attraction and have an underlying belief in the validity of the principle.  I wish that I could control it and implement it in my life.
